The Bestiary is a compilation of the most huge and horrid beasts from various folk tales indigenous to different peoples in Russia. The project is designed to show these monsters in a sequence starting from space and gradually moving to the underworld.
Apart from the beasts, this journey is illustrated with some features of urban present-day Russia because time is perceived as cyclical in the mythological view of the world. It has neither a beginning, nor an end, so the monsters might even be present now, much closer than one would think.
